I understand that the latest release of RMF has cache statistics in a new sub-type for record 74. What will the Optimizer be doing with that record?
The newest release of RMF has a record 74, sub-type 9, which contains the basic statistics that came with the Cache RMF Reporter (CRR). However, because at this point the Optimizer needs to support both RMF (from IBM) and CMF (from Boole and Babbage) we will continue to depend on the Cache RMF Reporter records. At some future date, if CMF and RMF look exactly alike in the sub-type 9 records, we might consider switching over to those records. Now, the next logical question is “How do I get Cache RMF Reporter?” Easy. Each copy of the DFSMS Optimizer includes a copy of the Cache RMF Reporter Version 1.7.
