The BIOS on these systems underwent a major reworking. Dell changed the BIOS of these systems from a Phoenix BIOS to a Dell BIOS. If your system’s current BIOS revision is less than A22, follow these instructions: If you have an Inspiron 1100 or 5100: update to A22 first and then to the higher revision. If you have an Inspiron 5150: update to A23 first and then to the higher revision.
