I tried to reset my password and got a Constraint Violation error, what is that?

A constraint violation occurs when you try and reset your password through the GATE system and you entered one of your past 6 recently used passwords. The GATE system will try an catch this error before it occurs; however, GATE only knows about password changes that occur through GATE, so if you reset your password through some other mechanism GATE will not catch the fact that your password violates the password history rules and will attempt to reset your password. If you receive this error, simply go back through the reset process through GATE and choose a different password. If this error occurs, you will not be able to login with your account using the old password and your password must be reset.
