“Character encoding” is probably set (or has been set sometime ago) to UTF-8 on your config page. When UTF-8 is selected, Coppermine chooses your language file based on your browser configuration and stores the value in a cookie. This overrides the value stored in the CONFIG. To fix that: • Set “Character encoding” to Default (language file) • Then call the script with http://yoursite.com/coppermine_dir/index.php?
