Only top of the line EOS cameras (all 1 series cameras and the EOS 3) have 100% viewfinder coverage. All other EOS cameras have lesser amounts of coverage – typically 92% or 90%. So it s possible that things at the very periphery of the picture may not be visible in your camera s viewfinder. Canon do this because 100% viewfinders require larger, heavier and costlier pentaprisms or mirrors. Normally it s not a big problem, though. Photo labs tend to crop images slightly when printing and slide mounts tend to cover the edges of slide film.
