British-based Telso has joined Safeway to provide a brick-and-mortar-based egrocer model. Ahold, from the Netherlands, buying out Peapod, is working with existing grocers. Albertsons is also busily picking up the slack in the Seattle area from the demise of Webvan and HomeGrocer. Albertsons’ model is a bricks-and-mortar model also using existing grocery stores … its own. These are exciting times in the growth of the egrocer industry. Now is the right time to be a part of it.
