Few people know that most estate agents have no formal qualifications, no regulatory body and no formal complaints procedure. Regulated by the Law Society all solicitors have undergone a minimum of 4 years academic and 2 years on the job training. Solicitors have a transparent and public available code of conduct when selling houses. Solicitors also have a regulatory body, The Law Society, which has real disciplinary teeth and a clearly defined complaints procedure.
