I thought circle hooks didn work in small sizes?
• A:The belief circle hooks needed to be relatively large is true for fishing circle hooks in the traditional manner. When a circle hook is taken into the mouth cavity it is often pushed flat between the jaws with the only place the hook able to engage being at the scissors. If the hook misses here the fish is missed. Fly material, bait or anything attached to the traditional circle hook can interfere with face of the hook making contact and rolling over. Large hooks were needed to increase the point face of the hook and its mass in attempt to overcome these sources of interference.
