Yes. While waiting for Medi-Cal or SSI approval, your medical providers should call CMSP for authorization of services in the event your Medi-Cal or SSI application is denied. If it is later determined that you were not disabled and you notified CMSP within sixty (60) days from the date of the denial notification, CMSP will provide coverage of your medical bills for services that were CMSP prior authorized. Those services which were not prior authorized will not be paid if you are later denied Medi-Cal/SSI and are approved by CMSP.
