I think because its an evidence issue – I would advise her to keep a diary of the goings on, record phonecalls etc, then go back when she has some evidence, they can dispute it then can they?

If you aren’t happy with what the Police have done and genuinely think they should do more contact the Police again and ask to speak to the local Inspector, it’s his job to make sure you get the service you deserve. Don’t sit there getting angry, do something about it.
