Taking Plavix and/or aspirin does not eliminate the possible of undergoing any Weight Loss operation. However, Plavix must be stopped for 7 days before Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery and permission to do so must be granted by the patient’s Cardiologist. Band surgery can be performed without stopping Plavix.
