I successfully created the SCARI demo application deployed on dual nodes but when I start the application it doesn work well. What could be causing problems?
A. One common problem that occurs is related to the synchronization of the sound cards. The sound card used to send voice packets is not synchronized with the one that receives the packets. This causes the AudioDevice to overflow and eventually it fails. Because of this, eventually the AudioEchoResource becomes floaded and can’t respond/fails. This demo has been successfully run by many users but it greatly depends on the hardware being used. Unfortunately, there is no easy work around for this bug. To address this problem, the AudioDevice should be upgraded to support double-buffering and such. However, this falls outside the scope of the SCARI project. Remember that the goal of the SCARI is to provide a SCA Core Framework with a couple simple examples (application and Devices) to show how to use it. However, if anyone volunteers to upgrade the AudioDevice, we will be happy to update our distribution and provide appropriate recognition.
