I spend a lot of time and money replacing burnt out bulbs. How much time and labor can new lighting save me?
Some incandescent bulbs have a rated life as short as 1000 or even 750 hours. That means that an incandescent bulb rated at 1000 hours and used for an average of 12 hours per day will need to be replaced in less than three months on average. Fluorescent lamps have rated lives of 6000 to as many as 20,000 hours and in some cases even longer. If you were to replace the bulb in the example above with a compact fluorescent lamp rated at 15,000 hours it would only need to be replaced every three and a half years on average.
