I sometimes hear a whistling sound when I wear the Songbird. What is that?
That whistling sound you hear is called feedback, and is common with all hearing aids. Feedback occurs when some of the sound produced by the speaker finds its way back to the microphone, and is amplified once again. Try reinserting the Songbird, or lowering the volume to reduce the feedback. The Songbird Ultra™ also has a feedback cancellation feature. You will hear feedback when putting the Ultra™ on and adjusting it in place, but once you have it in the most comfortable position, the feedback cancellation feature will kick in and the feedback will go away.
