I some times find servers that are named “unnamed” with no map, and with a 1/0 player count, but the player has no name, or any other info, but it gives me a ping time. Whats wrong with that server?
The server may simply be messed up, but the most common reason is that you’ve been banned from the server. Now this doesn’t mean that the Quake server admin banned you specifically. Server admins are able to ban IP addresses, usually by sub-mask (first three numbers in your IP address), which basically means that whoever was banned from that server uses the same ISP as you do. And for some reason querying servers that you’re banned on from GameSpy gives these weird looking results. • GameSpy isn’t running right.
