I shot down a MiG-21 in a Balkans campaign, but I got a warning from the pilot and was court-martialled when I returned from the mission. What gives?
Properly identifying aircraft and friendly-fire are problems every pilot must deal with. Despite the fact that the aircraft was a MiG-21, it may have been flown by a friendly nation. Ask AWACS to identify your target. After you lock it on radar or padlock and they will let you know if it is friend or foe.
