I seem to be having trouble performing zone transfers to a secondary DNS server when iTools is running as my primary DNS server. What is wrong?
iTools does not ship with any restrictions on who can do zone transfers. In a default iTools configuration, anybody can request a zone transfer from your machine. It is a common problem that a secondary DNS server is not able to slurp records from the primary DNS server because it does not believe that the primary DNS server is authoritative for that domain. In this case, make sure that your Internet Domain Name Registry service is pointing to both your primary and the secondary DNS server in its records for your domain. This will allow your servers to become authoritative, and the secondary DNS will magically start working. 21.
