Twister Data Integrator (TDI) and Twister Data Server (TDS) are designed for different purposes, but work together to allow improved management of and access to data. Twister Data Integrator is primarily an ETL (Extract, Load, Transform) tool. It automates and facilitates data ingestion, including extraction, normalization, and delivery of disparate data sets into new data stores or analytical environments. For unstructured or semi-structured text (emails, reports, web data, etc.) Twister integrates commercial text analytics applications (entity & event extractors, geotaggers, etc.). It is also used for data migration efforts, such as moving data from SQL to XML. Twister Data Server enables federated queries across multiple data sets and networks. Access to different data sets is mediated and all credentials are managed by the Twister Data Server. The query results are collected from each source and combined into either a single correlated result set or multiple results sets. SMSi bund
