I saw that CGS was purchased by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. How does that impact the J15 transition?
As we mentioned in March of this year, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has acquired CIGNA Government Services, LLC. While very little will change as a result of the acquisition, we have changed our name! Effective June 1, 2011, we are now called CGS Administrators, LLC. So what does this mean for you? Very little, from a provider-perspective actually. CGS remains the J15 A/B MAC, and your transition to CGS as your new Medicare contractor remains on schedule and a key priority for our organization. All of our previously communicated action items remain the same, and there are no additional steps that you will need to take as a result of the acquisition. The only difference you will notice is that our Website address has changed to www.cgsmedicare.com. Don’t worry if you forget the new web site address, you will be redirected to the new address automatically.
