If you can take the time, I suggest you read some of the articles on our Palm Wax page where I’ve collected articles from non-biased independently funded conservationists. Unfortunately, any agriculture in the tropics will impact the rain forests. Agriculture in Europe destroyed 99.9% of all primordial forests. Currently, one of the major causes for deforestation in Brazil are soy plantations. Up until the late nineties, logging companies and palm oil planters caused a lot of deforestation in Indonesia. Over the last 10 years, Indonesia and Malaysia, the two biggest producers of palm oil, have put in place protective measures that, particularly in Malaysia, seem to have put a stop to random logging of rain forests. This is why we source our regular palm wax from Malaysia.
