I saw an eaglet that seemed to be choking; then it threw up something. What was that?
A. Eaglets and eagles of all ages egest (cast) pellets, and when they are doing so they can appear to be vomiting or choking. The pellets are prey parts that could not be digested (bits of feathers, fur, fish scales, etc.); such items are squeezed into a pellet in the birds gizzard and then expelled.
