The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials has developed a list of traffic generators for which signing is not recommended. Kansas follows those guidelines. The list includes public services such as shopping centers, libraries, courthouses, and industrial parks; private campgrounds for churches and scouts; and recreational facilities such as golf courses and country clubs.
