Cats are creatures of habit and if you force an abrupt change on them youll run into trouble. If you must switch brands of litter, do it gradually by mixing a little of the new litter in with the old brand. Over the course of 5-7 days you can increase the amount of new litter and decrease the old. During this time, monitor the box carefully to make sure your cat is handling the transition successfully.
