As part of a one-year program approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission, ComEd is providing customers with different rates and access to energy management tools to assess how different technology and various levels of customer education can help customers make more informed decisions about energy use and potentially reduce their energy costs. Notification letters have been mailed to approximately 8,000 customers within ComEd’s service territory who were randomly chosen to be placed on these rates as part of this program. Customers who are part of this program received a special toll-free hotline and Web site to answer more specific questions.
