Yes, you must upgrade the Operating System Base License by purchasing an SMP extension to this license. An SMP Extension is required for each additional board. However, other products that are sold under System Class Structure do not need to be upgraded in this case since the VAX 7710 and VAX 7720 are in the same “Enterprise” System Class, and the same license may be used on any system model within a given System Class.
