I received a scholarship notice that said all I needed to do to receive the scholarship was to send the donor some personal information and a check for $20. What should I do?

It is highly advised that student NOT give personal information and NOT send money to organizations offering scholarships for a fee. Students should not send money to “foundations” or “search committees” that claim the “donations” or “search fees” will guarantee scholarships. Such organizations may not have your best interests at heart.
