No – not rare at all! But during winter cats don’t tend to breed as often so you’re not as likely to find lots of kittens at shelters. Once spring occurs, though, shelters are overrun. So go check your local shelters – spring has well, sprung! I’m sorry about your cat 🙁 The Persian is actually one of the breeds most often surrendered to shelters since they’re so high maintenance so you just find one at your local shelter. I have a full Persian I adopted (the one in my avatar) and he’s SUCH a sweet, incredibly playful cat! Just requires a LOT of grooming – a full combing every other day all year long!
