EBay failed to really gain a secure spot in Japan Internet Commerce. While Ebay was only offering approximately 25,000 items, Yahoo ( the market leader in the country) offered over 3.5 million items. Ebay cut their losses and looked elsewhere in the East Asian market, eventually buying NeoCom Technology, a Taiwanese online auction operator.
