I read about the one-time application and automatic renewal for GIS, the Allowance and the Allowance for Survivor benefits. Where can I find out more information on this?
You can now make a one-time application for GIS, Allowance or Allowance for the Survivor benefits. If you are either a new applicant or an individual who already receives these benefits, your benefits will be renewed automatically each year, as long as you remain eligible and file an annual income tax return on time. If you do not file your return on time, or if further information is needed, you will receive a renewal form in the mail. For further information please contact us.
