I read about seeders, trackers, leechers etc. What/who are they?
A seeder is the user who has the show to begin with and wants to share it. In this case, me. Leechers are users who are downloading the BitTorrent and have less than 100% of it. When the user completes 100% of the download, they will become a seeder. The availability and speed of the BitTorrent will depend upon these new seeders to continue to upload the BitTorrent. This is why it’s very important to keep your window open as long as you can so everyone can enjoy the shows. Here’s some common terms used by BitTorrent: Uploader: The person who uploaded the .torrent file to WWW server. There can be only one uploader per torrent (of course – the same torrent exists only once) Seeder: A person who shares a full copy of the torrent data to others. By “torrent data” I do not mean the .torrent file but the files/directories the .torrent file refers to. This may mean someone who has completed his download and, by leaving his client open, is now providing for other people to download off him. Le
Torrent: – the file you download and start in your bittorrent client that enables you to download a show. Seeder: Someone who has the complete show and is uploading it to you and others. Leecher: Becomes Seeds when they have finished downloading the show and they leave their client window open. Leech: Someone who doesn’t have the complete show and is downloading it. Seed the shows so others can get it Peer: – Someone who doesn’t have the complete show and is downloading it; sometimes also called a Tracker: The website software that keeps track of the seeds and leechers for a particular torrent Open a Reseed Request: When a torrent is no longer available for download from the tracker and you want someone who has already downloaded the show to put it back on the tracker and make it available for download again, you start a new thread and should put Reseed Request in the title. Firewalled: When you haven’t forwarded your ports, you will be unable to initiate a connection with others (nor
