I ran my FEA and got no result case. What is going on?
Lack of a result case means that the solver was unable to return a numerical solution. This may be the result of one or more several factors. Some instances keep reappearing in our applications (this list is not meant to be comprehensive): 1. You forgot to attach the results file. In Analysis, choose Access Results, Attach XDB and Result Entities. Select OK. 2. Your FEA model is improperly or not fully constrained. This requires you to examine your loads and constraints (LBC). 3. You forgot to equivalence and hence have superfluous degrees of freedom. Equivalence the model. 4. You have one or more element that has failed a geometry check. This indicates the mesh is poorly defined and most likely numerically unstable. Such a mesh should not be used to obtain a solution. In Patran, if the parameters in the geometry check exceed certain tolerances, various error messages are issued. A “Fail” error is a severe error that will cause execution of the analysis to cease.
