I plan on taking (or have already taken) a few prerequisite classes at another college. How will I know if they are comparable to the required SF State course?

You have 2 options: • Visit www.assist.org for courses taken at California State schools. • Send a copy of the course description and syllabus to the appropriate SF State academic department. For example, if you would like to find out if a chemistry course you’ve taken (or plan to take) is equivalent to the Survey of Chemistry course at State then send the Chemistry Department a copy of your course description and syllabus. An expert in the field, in this case chemistry, will be able to make an equivalency determination for you. Alternatively, you can email a copy of the course description and syllabus to the School of Nursing. We will determine if the course can satisfy our pre-requisite requirements.
