The car is a 2001 Nissan Maxima. A: In Nissan cars, it actually does not only beep upon second press of the button, it should beep every time you press the lock button, there are 2 programmed options for your keyfob, either off, or on. Or as Nissan calls this Beep or Quiet. If this doesnt work then its likely broken. Flip your keyfob over, and look at the back. There should be instructions on how to put it in and out of quiet mode. Mine says hold both lock and unlock for 2 seconds to switch between beep and quiet.
