Good clean fun is what’s with guns and explosives. Boomershoot is an annual event in Idaho (held by gun rights activist Joe Huffman). Boomershoot combines precision rifle shooting at high-powered explosives. It’s an absolute blast. If you enjoy the 4th of July fireworks, you’ll love Boomershoot. Though I serve as a range safety officer for the shoot, I also go to the event for for thrill-seeking fun. Even if you’ve never shot a gun before, I highly recommend attending the Boomershoot. Trained range officers can walk beginners through firearms safety, and demonstrate how to shoot. The event attracts people from all walks of life. Free shooting positions are always offered to members of the media. The Boomershoot is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can’t shoot at explosives just anywhere. Thankfully, a free state like Idaho allows for this kind of recreational fun.
