I noticed that there is no dollar limit in the ADM(HR-Mil) Instruction 17/04. How much money may I expect to support my courses?
Some clarification is necessary to explain the answer. First, funds are drawn from a finite funding envelope allotted to education reimbursement, therefore financial approval of a program of study is given for one academic year at a time; regardless of amount requested. Funds for study beyond the current academic year are not guaranteed. Before starting the next academic year, check with your local B/WPSO for ILP approval (after the 1st of May). Second, CDA has currently given the following signing authority to local approving authority (B/WPSO’s) for ILPs and claims at the following limits: $2500 per academic year and $10,000 member career; and to national approving authority (Directorate Learning Management – DLI) for ILPs at the following limits: $5000 per academic year and $15,000 member career.
