I notice that the Tufts degree is offered in collaboration with Emerson College. What does that mean?
Our collaboration with Emerson College is a perfect fit-both geographically and academically. Emerson’s campus is just two blocks away from the Tufts Medical School in downtown Boston. Emerson College has a long and distinguished history in communication disorders and communication studies. When both Tufts Medical School and Emerson College came together ten years ago to establish one of the first Masters Programs in Health Communication it was a perfect fit. Emerson would lend it’s expertise in communication and Tufts would provide it’s expertise in medicine and public health. Both the MS and MPH programs require that students take two of their core communication courses at Emerson College: Applications of Communication Theory to Health Communication and Media Strategies. Likewise Emerson College graduate students in health communication are required to take two core courses at Tufts Medical School: Introduction to Clinical Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
