I need to restore a backup archive previously made with McAfee Data Backup and Restore and I have just been updated to the 2010 suite, what can I do?
If your backups were performed with the default McAfee Data Backup and Restore with encryption and compression settings disabled (see above), than these files are directly accessible to you. If your backups were performed with either encryption and or compression enabled, you will need to install the standalone version of McAfee Data Backup and Restore, which you can download and install on either your current system or a seperate XP or Vista computer. One important requirement, the system running Data Backup and restore must have access to the storage location of the archives files previously made with McAfee Data Backup and Restore. You can download this standalone utility from: http://us.mcafee.com/root/eol_mback.asp. The standalone application functions in the same way as the version of the product included within the previous years’ products.
