If using your own server, then the CGI should reside in a directory that has CGI execution privilege. Usually ISPs grant this privilege to all user directories, but sometimes only a particular dir, termed ‘cgi-bin’ will have the privilege. Once the CGI is placed on the server you must make it executable, by the UNIX command, ‘chmod 755 *.cgi’.
