No. The maximum embedment for a concrete screw is 1-3/4″. When you add the maximum embedment to the 1-1/2″ of material that you want to attach to the concrete, you only have 3-1/4″. Once you drive the Tapcon® into the concrete past the maximum embedment, then the concrete screw may bind up or even break in the hole. All Tapcon® concrete screws can only be installed into the concrete up to the maximum embedment.
