I need to apply under Interdistrict Open Enrollment; is there any special information I need to know?
Interdistrict Open Enrollment (IOE) applications should be completed at the School Choice Office starting in late January or after for the following school year. IOE is only available to students attending CPS full-time. Those wishing to attend part-time (vocational classes) are not eligible to apply. Kindergarten applicants must be 5 on or before September 30. There is a ruling from the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) that may affect athletic eligibility for new placements of Interdistrict high school students entering after the start of the 9th grade. Those students may need to sit out one calendar year before regaining athletic eligibility. Be sure to ask us to about your child’s status prior to accepting a new school through IOE. IOE students are responsible for transportation. IOE students are not placed in a school unless the waiting list for all CPS residents who have requested a seat in that school has been cleared.
