I need more time to gather some documentation prior to requesting that my file goes to the Final Authority level for determination. How do I request an extension to the 90-day time limit?

It is important that your written and signed request for Final Authority determination be submitted by you within 90 days of your receipt of the Initial Authoritys decision. If you were unable to submit your request for Final Authority determination within the 90 days, you must provide reasons for the delay in your written request. The Final Authority will then decide if he is satisfied that it would be in the interests of justice to still consider your grievance beyond the time limit. If you have additional documentation that you want to provide to support your grievance submission, but wont be able to obtain it within the 90 days, indicate in your written request for Final Authority determination that you plan to provide further documentation at a later date. You will have an opportunity to provide further comments and additional documentation at another stage in the grievance process at the Final Authority level.
