I need a good dog repellent spray AND a bitter stop-chewing spray that is safe on carpet, vinyl floors, and finished wood. I gotta nip this new-puppy-chewing-everything-he-can-reach habit in the bud, what has worked for you?

You need to combine approaches with this. The puppy chews for a lot of different reasons, but usually from teething. Most of the time a dog will outgrow chewing as s/he finishes getting his/her adult teeth — between six and eight months. First, provide the pup with a lot of chew toys. In my own experience, hard rubber or rope is best — they *can* destroythem, but it takes time and will not make them sick. Stay ways from rawhide. Then, if you catch him/her chewing something else, firmly tell them no and give them a chew toy instead. As well, chili oil is one excellent repellent. Don’t lay it on thick — a very small amount will repel dogs (and cats) just because of the scent — the taste is really strong, too, and they hate it, but too much can burn their tongues. Hope this helps.
