I must replace the locks in my coin boxes. What is involved?
First, To replace just the locks in existing boxes can be a problem. One, if the locks are Sentinel or Rampart, you cannot just replace the locks. Those locks are obsolete and nothing currently available will swap out with them. You MUST replace the whole box. Secondly, you MUST replace the locks with the same kind of lock. That is, if the boxes have tubular locks, you must replace them with tubular locks, if they are the half moon type of key you must use the half moon locks and so on. And if you are trying to replace the locks in a Greenwald or an ESD box, we cannot assure that the assembly will go well. During production different spacers are incorporated in the product according to what lock is being used. In changing things about you may wind up with boxes that bind or are too loose. This may be a case where saving money may cost you more in the long run. To save aggravation, replace the entire box.
