I lost my job & having difficulty caring for our dog, could RSPCA take my dog in their care?
Sorry to sound harsh, but why are you ditching the dog? You can reduce food costs by choosing cheaper generic foods from supermarkets. If the dog has a pre existing condition, then if you have lost your job, provide a copy of your unemployment benefit / housing / council tax benefit to the PDSA and you will receive free treatment for the dog. I am sorry but a dog is not a disposable asset, you may feel down now, but you will feel worse if you “get rid of the dog”. It is no different from cost cutting on your spending on your own food, you just feed him cheaper products. Do not be embarrassed to ask the PDSA for help, that why we support them. When you are back in work you just return the favor to them by fund raising. Good Luck.
