In these cases, we must tell the software that there is no printer or scanner connected. This is done with a few simple changes to the configuration files. For ease of setup, we recommend you install the software packages to their default file locations. * Install the Scan software. * Use Windows Explorer to browse to c:\program files\windows scan * Open the configuration file winscan.ini * In the second paragraph, find the line that says HardwareConnect= and change it to NO * Close the window and save the changes when prompted. * The Scan software should now open properly * Install the Request software. Use the Request95/98 version if possible. * Usually no changes need to be made in this configuration file. If the Request program does not open, it’s usually because of a pathing error in the configuration file. Use Windows Explorer to browse to c:\
