I live in Pikeville (Eastern District) can I file in another District (such as Louisville in the Western District)?
A lot of this answer depends on whether or not you have real property and if you are living here at the time of filing. We understand not wanting to file in the Eastern District. First, it costs less to file bankruptcy here. Second, it is more trouble. Third, perhaps you dont want the record locally and for family and friends to know. Fourth, some districts are more conservative and strict than others.
