I live in Canada. Do I receive any tax benefits as a Canadian citizen for a contribution to the Support the Met Broadcasts Campaign?
A gift to the Metropolitan Opera is not tax-deductible in Canada, as the Met is not registered as a charity with Revenue Canada. It is a matter that has been looked into and, unlike many foreign charities raising funds in the United States, it is not as easy for U.S. charities to raise funds in other countries.
