I keep hearing about IFSAC seals. What are they?
Upon successful completion of the State examination, the student will be eligible to receive three separate IFSAC seals as long as a minimum of 70% is maintained on each of the three sections. This Fire Inspector course meets the requirements of Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, and Plans Examiner I. The Fire Investigator course meets the requirements for the Fire Inspector IFSAC seal. IFSAC stands for International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and their web site is www.ifsac.org. IFSAC is a voluntary organization in which various training courses are analyzed and if verified are eligible for receipt of the IFSAC seal. If the student passes the state exam with a minimum of 70%, that individual may be a Fire Inspector/Fire Investigator in the State of Texas for the rest of their life.
