I keep getting an error message The Visual Basic for Applications project is protected with a password – why?

You will get this error message if you try to view any VBA module code. The message is a little misleading – basically Access tries to find the VBA source code, but fails, so it assumes that the VBA project is password protected – but it is not, it is simply unavailable in an MDE file (even when unlocked).
