I just read The Pagan Christ. Was the story of Jesus Christ really a myth?
I am a pretty open minded person when it comes to what many people consider to be “too sensitive” a topic and I have no qualm with entertaining a discussion outside the lectures, doctrine, and sermons of the church. I “believe” Jesus Christ was an actually person. There are Roman records to support it. Pontius Pilate as well. What hurts most Christian fanatics <-and there is a difference between a believer and a fanatic -> is the sheer fact that most fanatics do not know how to defend their own faith other than quoting scripture or citing some skewed example of history taught to them that are not objective. Example: Christ’s birthday was never December 25th. The roman sun god Mithras was celebrated during the Winter Solstice (Dec 21st or 22nd depending on the year). In an effort to convert Pagans to Christians Emperor Constantine took Christ’s birthday (which should have been during the Jewish Passover) and combined the two birthdays into one.
